We went there to discover some truth about ourselves.
Yes, everything began with this sort of pact made by a triforce... but only time and the mountain will have the last word, and may there be a new alignment and the triforce was renewed.
3 characters whom will become best friends. Well, lets say my boyfriend/best friend since 2005 was there, and my girlbestfriend who I adore to death, so is not that there we became the best of friends, it was more like we made our relation stronger. We learn so much about how to be thankful for our existence, to beware of ourselves and the obstacles that we put on, and on and on again.
Since we arrived to Oaxaca, at the very first hours of the day, the earth was trying to tell us something we couldn't hear till we got our ears plugged out from the city and the zillion things we had in mind.
The 3 hour drive from Oaxaca downtown, to San José is EFFING amazing, you can see the power of the mountain and witness the effort and the misunderstanding between human and nature.
At some point in the only road you can take to cross the so call "Sierra", you can make little (or long) recesses in smalls towns, one of them is San José, at first glimp is like nothing could happen in that town, but two years back when our friend Atún took us there we learnt our lesson, and so we started hiking the mountain till we arrived at Virgen's cabins, accesible and warm refugee for those who enjoy the beauty of the mountain, the soul trip that can be reach by the magic mushroom, the little saints. So there we made friends, a group of nice adventurers, travelling with a turtle in a red bochito, nice and funny guys.
After a while and a little rest, we started our journey to Paco's house, after 2 years I don't know how in the fuck I remembered the way, so we succeed in our endevour, but Paco wasn't there, we waited and some random guys paused at Paco's, they were already tripping with the psilocybin, it was an introduction to our random and beautiful utopia in San José. We decided to get back to the cabins and eat something, but in the way we found Paco, coming with some long woodsticks, and a gas tank for his house, as we did two years ago. That image of him running like a horse or a wildcat, as if the mountain was his own creation.
We said our hellos and goodbyes, cuz still we needed some fuel to keep the adventure, so we did, and told Paco we were coming back later. He agreed and a few hours later we were back on our way to his house. He was playing some didgeridoo with the guys we found earlier. We spoke about things, about the city, and our expectations for the trip. He listen and sang. Everyday was his birthday.
We made it to San José, we said hi to Paco, and ate like kings, the night arrived and so we to the cabins, the first night was full of sounds and howlings. The cloud covered us like a blanket and we slept.
The days passed so fast there, cuz time wasn't important, just the sunlight and the starlights. Just the edginess of feeling ourselves part of something humungus and beautiful. We were also waiting for someone who didn't come for the friendship ritual, and also I lost my wallet with all the cash for the days to come, it was emotional and both situations caused me some sadness even though I got to grow from my context, also that marked something, as if was the beginning of a new era without that person, and without freaking out about no having control over things. I guess nature does not lie, and metaphysics are really hard for me to not listen or at least give it an honest go in my mind, and so the ritual, the temazcal and the shroomie ingesta was something to remember forever, Mon and I got to eat the little saints ones, our Shaman Paco and some good people helped us trough our soultrip. There I could felt the pain of the earth, the ache of nature, but also a big warm heat that force me to embrace my loved one till I felt no part of my body detached from his. I cried and heard Mon crying, and Paco cried for his long gone grandmother. It was super intense and emotional for everyone present. It brought us closer and well, I assume each of us found a little bit of truth in the trip, and in the adventure.
This is a annual trip, must be done with people who love you and care about your dreams and viceversa. Let's wait for the next summer to hike the mountain and listen to her wisdom.
